Tell Halif Helgi the Lean

Helgi the Lean, a Viking character (Pálsson and Edwards 1972:97) demonstrates this response perfectly: "Helgi the Lean went to Iceland with his wife and children and his son-in-law Hammund Hell-Skin as well. .... Helgi's faith was very much mixed: he believed in Christ but invoked Thor when it came to voyages and difficult times." Similar examples are found elsewhere in the Landnámabók.
