Tell Halif Closed Room

Dr. Avi Eitan (personal communication) reported the discovery of a room similarly placed architecturally entirely out of ordinary use at the site of Vered Jericho. Eitan suggests that Vered Jericho was a sacred site. Like the small chamber at Halif, the room at Vered Jericho was also in the corner of the structure, which consisted of two pillared houses set side by side and an enclosed space or court in front, which also enclosed other structures.
